1977: A report that Marion Bermudez would fight on Texas Card
In the El Paso Herald Post, dated May 10, 1977, Page 20, they report that Marion Bermudez would be fighting on this card that was headlined by Randall Cobb, an El Pason Heavyweight boxer. WBAN will be looking for documentation if Bermudez stayed on this card, but there was no mention of an opponent.
They state the following: “THE SHOW tonight also will bring back Marion Bermudez, a Phoenix girl who has a B.S. degree in electronics from the University of Arizona. Miss Bermudez apparently likes boxing more than her chosen profession of electronics.
There may be some restrictions and some opinion against women boxing. But Marion says, “women should be allowed to box just as men should be allowed to take home economics in school.”
