1978: Cora Orr Peaches fights in an Female Boxing Exhibition in Detroit

DETROIT, MICHIGAN – May 22, 1978 – On this date, there was a historical exhibition with two female boxers.  Cora Orr Peaches, only 16 years old, is in an exhibition with Katie Graves, 25 years old.   The exhibition took place at the Kern Block marking in Downtown Detroit. Both of the female train at the city recreation center. In this historical photo  Peaches goals was to become a professional boxer in New York. At the time she stated that her mother did not approve of her boxing.
