What is on the Horizon for WBAN in 2013? by Sue TL Fox

(JAN 1) I would like to talk about some of the new changes and  what I would like to add to my “Hit List” in 2013.

First off….with the WBAN 2012 Yearly Awards that will  be posted later today—- I would like to tell everyone that we  are adding something special to this biggest yearly segment that we  have had on WBAN every year since 2000.

WBAN 2012 Yearly Awards

Beginning with the WBAN 2012 Yearly Awards, (“WORLDWIDE” TOP  PICKS) of the best in the sport:  For  ANY of our TOP PICKS who are named in “Individual” awards  (i.e. Fighter of the year) , we  will be giving a beautiful personalized WBAN Plaque, along with  two official WBAN patches, and a WBAN Award Letter sent to them  via mail. We are very excited to add this to the Awards program  for the female boxers.

Other items on the horizon

I am going to continue to reach out to the female boxers, amateurs and pros to get their stories, via biographies  published on WBAN. At this time, we have a large and extensive  collection of biographies, with our special thanks to Dee Williams who puts up the best bios on the net about the boxers.  But  with that said, we still need to give exposure to many, MANY female boxers who are not in our biography segment, and that we
would like to give more exposure to on WBAN.

Issues with the WBAN World Title Belts

Our independent WBAN world title belts that are only fought by the best and top  ranked female boxers in the sport, we have restructured how we handle those world title fights when the fight takes place  OUTSIDE of the United States. WBAN has had a couple of  [negative] situations occur that has made us have to re-think how we handle the belts outside of the United States.

Looking at ways to give more award credits to amateurs

WBAN is looking at creating a special award (s) that could be  given at amateur boxing shows, for top amateur boxers at a particular tournament. We have been in contact with many of the amateur boxing advocates in an attempt to find ways to create awards for these amateur boxers from WBAN.

WBAN Memorabilia Online store

WBAN is contemplating having a WBAN memorabilia store, with countless memorabilia items available for purchase for boxing fans who like to collect such items. These memorabilia items are authentic and are items that were accumulated throughout the years at fight cards, and other ways.

In Conclusion…..

As a persona note, I am really looking forward to 2013. I hope  we see a lot of great matchups, see more female bouts featured on boxing cards throughout the world, and that there will be  more opportunities for females to be featured on television on the various sports networks—-it is definitely time.
