In an article in the Police Gazette magazine, they wrote the following: Dolly Adams….Here is a tough girl that even challenged the great JIM CORBETT to meet her in the ring. CORBETT declined the offer to fight her , but she is reported to have taken a title form Hattie Leslie, in what was described as a “Fierce” seven-round encounter in New York, NY. The fight took place on June 3, 1894. She hailed out of St. Louis, and only 22 years old. Her weight was at 141 lb., and 5’5″ tall.
