WBAN’s Final Tribute to boxing promoter Tony Trunich
Tony “Mr. T” Trudnich, a longtime Vegas boxing promoter was found dead by an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound at the age of 68. His death was ruled a suicide. Mr. T was one of the promoters who promoted women’s boxing in the late 70’s and had promoted many boxing matches for Sue TL Fox. He did countless boxing shows in the casinos, and was very well respected. Services will be held at the Davis Funeral Home.
Mr. T was involved in the car dealership business in California and Vegas in the late 1960s – mid-1970s. For the next 18 years, he promoted many boxing fights.
Mr. T also promoted professional tennis at the Ceasar’s Palace. Mr. T once offered Sue TL Fox to come to Vegas to change from pro boxing to tennis, and that he would get the top trainers for her in tennis. She turned down the offer.
Mr. T was born on Jan. 7, 1934, in San Pedro, Calif.,Trudnich served in the Marine Corps.
