On May 14, 1926, there was a story coming in from New York, in the REGISTER, in Ohio [page four], that Charlotte Podlion, 50 years old, was suing a 72 year old woman by the name of Mrs. Charles S. Keene, the wife of a former vice president of the American Tobacco company, for the sum of $110,000.
Podlion was claiming that Mrs. Keense “Beat her up, in a night club.”
The response from the 72 year old senior citizen: “The Charge is absurbed.”
