1976: Report of a fight between Cat Davis vs. Betty Rogers

You can see Cat Davis of Hopewell Junction on a CBS-TV boxing show Saturday, Dec. 11, 1976, out of Caesar’s Palace, Las Vegas. She’ll be in the eight-round co-feature, defending her world lightweight title against Betty Rogers of Seattle. The best-looking gal in the sport’s history scored a three round technical knockout over Margie Dunson of Portland, Me , last Wednesday at the Portland Exposition Building That hiked her record to 10-0 — nine knockouts — and immediately brought offers for fights in Lewistown. Me., in January and Allentown, Pa., in February.

Cat is managed by Sal Algieri of Hopewel! Junction, former professional boxer He also manages Boone Kirkman, former heavyweight contender, who will start a comeback next month Algieri hopes to pair Kirkman with Duane Bobick after a couple of tuneup bouts.  This was reported in the SUNDAY RECORD, page 34, November 28, 1976.
