July 22, 1957: Phyllis Kugler chosen as Woman Boxer and Boxing’s Beauty Queen of the Year

On July 22, 1957, a press release was written by “Shep” Shepperd Enterprises, Promoter, to Phyllis Kugler’s manager/trainer.  The letter stated the following:

Dear Mr. Nate:

We are Pleased to announce that Miss Phyllis Kugler has been Chosen by me and the Fraternal Oder of Police as the Woman Boxer and Boxing’s Beauty Queen of the year.

We would like to present Miss Kugler with this award at the All-Star Outdoor Boxing Show that is to be held on August 31st, at the ballpark in Pompano Beach, Florida.
