Olympics 2012: Join Forces to Help Organization
(JAN 5, 2009) WBAN received a letter from Christy Halbert, Director, Boxing Resource Center, and co-founder of LetThemBox.org.
Halbert told WBAN the following, “2009 will be an exciting year for boxing and for LetThemBox.org. By October of this year we will know if women’s boxing events have been added to the 2012 Olympic Games. There is still a great deal of work to be done, and education about girls and women’s boxing is needed now more than ever. This is crunch time. 2009 marks the last round in our fight for 2012 inclusion, and LetThemBox continues to play an important part in the movement to get women’s boxing into the 2012 Olympic Games. There are no rest bells between now and the IOC decision. The LetThemBox.org website is updated regularly with facts, resources, and educational materials that have been checked and rechecked for accuracy. LetThemBox.org is your best source for rumor-control about progress toward women’s Olympic boxing. At the website you can print materials to help educate others about the worldwide women’s boxing movement, check facts, and get the latest news on the movement to add women’s boxing to the Olympics. ”
“LetThemBox.org is in need of donations to help them. All donations are charitable and tax-exempt. Donation will be used to fund the LetThemBox.org website as well as posters, clinics and showcase competitions. All LetThemBox organizers are volunteers”, added Halbert.
