Stuart Breslow to be honored with Special Award at the International Women’s Boxing Hall of Fame in Las Vegas
The International Women’s Boxing Hall of Fame (IWBHF) is proud to announce that Stuart Breslow is receiving the highly prestigious Special Award “Beyond the Ropes” on Saturday, October 7, 2023, at the Orleans Hotel & Casino, in Las Vegas, Nevada. The IWBHF developed this award to honor those who played a significant part in women’s boxing and many times received little to no recognition. Breslow helped tremendously in women’s boxing when he was part of the Ring of their Own when women’s boxing was struggling in that time frame. Without people as Breslow who played a major part in the sport, women’s boxing would not be where it is today! Sue TL Fox – IWBHF President
Stuart Breslow was born and raised in Los Angeles, California. As a child growing up, Stuart recalled seeing how passionate his father was for the sport of boxing. One of Stuart’s fondest memories was seeing a giant signed photograph by Muhammad Ali to his father that now hangs in Stuart’s office.
Stuart has been married to his lovely wife Sandra for forty years, raising two sons Jason and Aaron with the importance of being a devoted family man. Although his older son Jason is in the tech industry, when it came to boxing—both of his sons were always by his side.
Stuart being a devoted family man, he had coached both of his sons in all aspects of sports with Jason, who was in martial arts, and soccer; and Aaron in baseball and football.
Although Stuart who worked extremely hard as a General Contractor, one thing he never did, was miss a game that his sons participated in—-and he made sure to travel with both boys to all their competitions.
As a young man, Stuart restored classic Mustangs and later remodeled and renovations on boats in a Marina. He started his General Contracting building stages for top entertainers for concerts, including the likes of Madonna. He then later went on to remodel homes.
In the late 90’s Stuart, an entrepreneur, had the opportunity to purchase his first commercial real estate which was an apartment complex in Los Angeles. He continues to grow that business to where it is today, and owns commercial real estate throughout the country.
In 2005, Stuart’s passion for boxing continued and he became a partner with the “Ring of their Own”.
Stuart said that when he was approached by a friend, who later became his partner in that business, he did not hesitate to invest in what he felt was an incredible concept for women’s boxing. At the time–unfortunately the Ring of their Own was slightly ahead of it’s time.
Stuart continued his passion in boxing opening his own boxing gym where all were welcome at zero cost to the athletes who wanted to train. Stuart and his son’s managed several male boxers who have ultimately won title belts.
Today, Stuart is semi-retired where he enjoys spending time with his family, traveling, inspecting his properties, and yachting.
Both of his sons, are married to beautiful women, and he has one grandson, Nico, and looking forward to having more.
Stuart has a passion for people and always gives a helping hand to anyone around him. Even though he has retired from boxing, he still mentors young boxers. He has always been known as “Pops” to all his boxers and most still call him for his support.
