Tissen and Kaloki to fight for a GBC Title and WHY one might ask..

(JAN 21, 2009) WBAN received reliable  information yesterday, that Elina Tissen, of Germany is vying for another title shot—-this time fighting for the GBC Super Bantamweight Championship against Kenya’s Benedetta Kaloki. The fight is set to take place at the Warendorf Nordhein-Westfalen in Germany, this weekend on January 24th. This information is also listed on BoxRec’s schedule of upcoming bouts.

Kaloki turned pro less than a year ago, with a current record of  3-3. Kaloki is reported to have been a former karate kickboxing ace, before getting into boxing.

According to Boxrec, Kaloki, has three wins with the following fighters. Christine Auma 0-1-0; Sarah Achieng 0-0-0; and a rematch with Christine Auma at 0-2-0. All of these fights were four round bouts. According to Boxrec’s record of Kaloki, she has not defeated a boxer who has ever won a fight. Kaloki is also listed as “Not Rated”.

So who did Kaloki LOSE to? Her first loss was against Rukia Nasirite, 3-6-1; her second loss was to Carol Orenja, pro debut, 0-0-0; and her third loss was to Yvonne Chikapa, pro debut, 0-0-0. Kaloki has fought a total of 25 rounds in her six bouts of fighting. So one may ask why in the world would she be qualified to fight for a championship title?

With that question in mind, let’s move on to Elina Tissen…

Tissen, now 7-2-0 (4KO), won her GBC Title belt by defeating a “not rated” Elena Dima, who was 0-2-0 going into the fight. Dima was stopped in the fourth round. How does one win ANY title belt fighting a winless boxer?

Tissen’s “opponents” boxing records are an accumulated 2-22-0. Boxrec has Tissen ranked at #38 worldwide.  Neither Tissen nor Kaloki are ranked with WBAN.
