Two History Firsts for women in 1978 in Minnesota Boxing

In April of 1978, it was reported in the Tribune in Minnesota, that there were two history “firsts” for women in Minnesota Boxing.  First Judy Klammer of Minneapolis, a huge advocate for female boxing was appointed to the state boxing commission by Governor Rudy Perpich.  She was reported to be the “First Womna” To serve on the commission.

Also, she had played a part with Bill Paul in getting the first amateur female boxers in the history making first sanctioned bout for the amateur boxers.  For full details we have posted the original news report for documentation purposes.  Copyrights: Tribune
