WBAN first made history with our first winners of the WBAN Belts on June 13, 2008, when multi-world champion Holly Holm and Chevelle Hallback both won the first Award belts. Holm took on very tough opposition when she fought undefeated Mary Jo Sanders at junior middleweight and won that bout by an unanimous decision. Hallback also fought a war that night when she defeated Jeannine Garside by a unanimous decision. and won the WBAN lightweight [Award] independent belt.

Anne Marie Saccurato, has held a steady #1 WBAN ratings from 12/2008-08/2009. She is also the current world champion (times three) of the WBC in the lightweight division; and #1 with the WIBF. Myriam Lamare, is rated #2 with WBAN, and is a former world champion for the WBA and WIBF as a junior welterweight. We wish the best of luck to both of these boxers, and am happy that they expressed pride in fighting not only for the WBF world title belt but for the WBAN Belt.
