In April of 1978, it was reported in the Tribune in Minnesota, that there were two history “firsts” for women in Minnesota Boxing. First Judy Klammer of Minneapolis, a huge advocate for female boxing was appointed to the state boxing commission by Governor Rudy Perpich. She was reported to be the “First Womna” To serve on the commission.
