Sheree Johnson is a photographer, filmmaker, cinematographer, and editor with more than 25 years of experience in visual storytelling. Born and raised in Chicago and based in Clearwater, Florida, she is the founder and CEO of Image Masters International Inc. (IMI Inc.), a certified woman- and minority-owned creative company.
Her work spans event photography, documentaries, short films, commercials, and music videos. Whether photographing a major celebration or documenting an individual’s journey, Sheree brings an attentive eye and a personal connection to her work. She begins by listening to and understanding the people whose stories she captures.
Sheree’s leadership extends beyond the camera. After 20 years as a photographer covering Clearwater Jazz Holiday, she stepped into the role of Media Chair, helping coordinate photography and media coverage for the annual festival. She also serves as lead photographer and team leader for the Savor St. Pete Food & Wine Festival in St. Petersburg, Florida, directing a team of five photographers. Her responsibilities include planning coverage, coordinating assignments, and guiding the team in documenting the festival’s people, activities, sponsors, and overall experience.
Her commitment to community service has also included volunteering as a Big Sister with Big Brothers Big Sisters and contributing her photography and videography skills to charitable and cultural events.
Sheree is the creative force behind Hit Like a Girl, a documentary series exploring the lives and journeys of women boxers. Through their experiences inside and outside the ring, the series examines ambition, sacrifice, resilience, and the pursuit of opportunity. She serves as director, cinematographer, editor, and executive producer.
Through Hit Like a Girl, Sheree’s work has brought her closer to the athletes and history of women’s boxing. In 2023, she attended the International Women’s Boxing Hall of Fame celebration to document Laura “Lady Ram” Ramsey’s award and induction, capturing her experience and interviewing her for the series.
The series’ completed feature documentary follows Carisse “TAZ” Brown. The film has received finalist recognition from the Peachtree Village International Film Festival, an official selection from the Tampa Bay Underground Film Festival, and the Best Woman Film award from the Clown International Film Festival.
Her film credits include Data File, which earned an Honorable Mention for Best Cinematography at the Global Film Festival Los Angeles. She also received the 2019 WIFTY Rising Star Award from Women in Film & Television Florida and the 2023 Dunedin International Film Festival Peace and Love Award.
Across her photography, filmmaking, and community leadership, Sheree is committed to capturing meaningful moments, supporting the people she works with, and preserving stories that deserve to be seen and remembered.
On October 26, 2026, Sue TL Fox, President and Founder of the International Women’s Boxing Hall of Fame (IWBHF), formally extended an invitation to Sheree Johnson to join the organization’s esteemed Board of Directors as the Official Photographer and Videographer.
