(AUG 12) On Friday, August 11th, at Caesars Palace Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas hosted the 5th Annual Nevada Boxing Hall of Fame and Fan experience. The Fan experience was a meet and greet for the fans, and, in the evening were awards for a few of the inductees. Amateur Nevada Female fighter of the year award was given to Yarisel Ramirez.
The best Pro fighter of the year was Layla McCarter. McCarter was not present at the awards due to another obligation, Shelley Williams accepted the award; TMT Fighter Latondria Jones was the Pro Prospect of the year; and WBC Jill Diamond also received an award for all her contributions in women’s boxing.
Sue "TL" Fox, Multi-Hall of Famer, award-winning pioneer boxer rated #1 in the world in 1979, and creator/founder of WBAN™. She was named in the Feb. 2012 Commemorative issue of Ring Magazine as one of the Top-Ten Most Influential female boxers of all time. ring is a professional musician and a retired police officer from Oregon. She also created and founded the International Women's Boxing Hall of Fame in 2014. [In April of 2025, in Las Vegas, Fox will celebrate the 12th year anniversary of the IWBHF, and 27th year of WBAN as of May 18, 2025.]
